my art

I’ve been working on mineral drawings / watercolor paintings series recently and I think it’s a good time to share them here. I’ve done 6 paintings and at this point my work started to evaluate in different direction, so I think I’m done with mineral watercolor paintings for this moment. I’ll share another version of these drawings next week. Here they are:

It’s been a long time since my last post! I wanted to concentrate on my own artistic work recently and together with winter-sicknesses period and lack of computer at home it generated much longer break than I planned.

Today I want to share with you first watercolor illustration in a new series I’m working on – my favourite recipes. Print is available in my Etsy shop.

mapart.me - Lemon Pickles

Here is the recipe – it’s really easy and delicious but you have to wait for 2-3 weeks until they are ready.

LEMON PICKLES (circa 1l jar)

* 5 lemons

* salt

* olive oil (extra virgine)

* a few cloves of garlic

* a few parsley leaves

* red chili pepper

Wash the lemons carefully in warm water. Slice them on circa 5 mm (0.2 inch) pieces. Put the lemons on a plate in layers.Sprinkle each layer with salt generously. Put away for 24 hours.

Towel dry the lemons. Put into a jar. Stick slices of chili, garlic and parsley leaves. Cover with olive oil entirely. Tilt the jar gently to let the air bubbles go.

Wait for 2-3 weeks.

When all lemons are eaten you can use the oil for salad dressings or rosting meet.

Bon apetit!

There was a time in our life (I suppose when my husband and I started dating) when none of us had a car. We didn’t live together yet and public transport between our houses almost didn’t exist, so we walked a lot.

Our everyday routes started and ended in one of: my mom’s home where I used to live, my husand’s home where we live now and my parents’-in-law home who we often visited.

Time of the year was awful – rainy and cold November (as usual) so we were very happy when we finally bought a car, but now I like to remind myself about these walks.
That’s why I created these simple illustrations showing our routes. Plus, we are going to sell our apartment and move to bigger one, so all ways to keep memories about our current home are precious.

Please let me know which map version do you like more? Do you like these maps without any labels or would you add some?

Everyday routes map - version black&pink

This map does not show whole city we live in – I drew only the part of the city which was important regarding our walks and only the most important streets.

If you would like to have similar illustration of your routes let me know – I’m going to add such custom map to my etsy shop. There are many possibilities of your routes:

  • romantic walks
  • commuting to your first work
  • your walks to school and friends when you were a child / teenager
  • everyday walks with your dog
  • all of them on one map

Think of this project in terms of keeping memories for you or someone else you love.

When I saw this tiny photo from Milano in one of newspapers I knew I have to paint it:

Photo from Mediolan

The composition was so interesting it immediately found place on my wall waiting for its time. It took me whole month to find the courage to create my first painting basing on this photo and here it is:

"Warsaw" - abstract acrylic painting by mapart.me

Photo is from Milano but it reminds me of Warsaw so that’s how it’s called.

Almost whole painting was done with a little putty knife (exept of orange squares) so it has nice texture. Painted with acrylic, size 20×20 inch.

Painting can be bought in my etsy shop.
